Why are my DM’s getting ignored?
Why are my e-mails not getting responded to?
Why is the wrong artist popping up under my name on Google?
How do I get press?
How do I get on big Spotify playlists?
As an independent artist, these were some of the questions I asked myself every day. The music industry is extremely secretive and no one wants to help. If someone does respond to you, you can be sure to hear the magic rip-off words of “What’s your budget?”
I’ve had to figure out everything on my own. From building my own website. To getting Instagram models with millions of followers to push my songs. Getting my music video shown in all 1300 Journey’s shoe stores in North America. Opening up for a hip-hop legend (RIP Prodigy). To getting millions of streams on Spotify. If I didn’t do it, it wasn’t going to get done. And this is why I started Group 82.
I know there are other artists out there who have been in the situation I was in. I had no music industry contacts. No lawyer. No publicist. No manager. All I had was a belief that my music was good enough for people to vibe with and I wanted it to get heard.
I have made a lot of money on my music and I have learned a lot of lessons along the way. I didn’t want other artists to make the same mistakes or waste money getting ripped off. Which is why every service we offer on Group 82 is something we have already done in my career. We only speak on what we know. And we know a lot.
If you are a person who is worried about blue checkmarks or thinks your song on SoundCloud is going to go viral by spamming comment sections, we aren’t for you. But if you are a person who is looking to get multiple royalty checks every month from your music through hard work and guidance, we are here to help.
Everyone should get paid for their talent and we will provide you with the blueprint.
Founder, Group 82
